Lawrence S. Kohel, 66, of Lincoln, died June 2, 2017.  Retired Nebraska Dept. of Revenue, Member St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Former Chairman Catholic Committee on Scouting, Asst. Scoutmaster Troop 45, Eagle Scout, NSAA Football official 42yrs, and UNL Event Staff.        

Lawrence is survived by his sons, Brian, Michael (Laura) both Lincoln; grandchildren, Madison, Joshua, Elizabeth; brothers, Richard (Kathi), Keith (Pam), Ron (Joannie) all Lincoln; sisters, Rose Brinkman, Phyllis (Dave) Rabe, Sandra Kohel; nieces & nephews.

He was preceded by his parents & a brother-in-law.

Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday 2:00 P.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lincoln. Officiating: Father Nathan Hall.

Viewing: Tuesday 9am – 9pm (with family present Tuesday 6-7pm) with a Rosary: Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln.      

Burial: Calvary Cemetery in Lincoln

Larry had a zest for life. Whether singing in the church choir or working at Husker games, he gave it his all and was always genuinely interested in those around him. Rest in peace, faithful servant!
