Gregory, Marie Kathleen (Prather)

Marie Kathleen (Prather) Gregory peacefully passed away in the presence of family on Friday, June 2, 2017. Marie’s greatest joy in life was being involved in the lives of her family. She treasured the time spent at sporting events, musical performances, scholastic achievement presentations, birthday parties, weddings, “Thanksmas” or any other time that she could visit with her family. She was always the first to arrive (usually at least a half hour early) and the last to leave any event. Marie was a great cook with “sweets” at the top of the list. She also enjoyed garage sales, where she always found “good stuff” that her family could use, and her Beanie Baby collection was a prized possession.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ross & Agnes (Roe) Prather; husband of 52 years, Lee E. Gregory; sons-in-law, Steve Boldt & Robert Kelly; siblings, Pauline (Junior) Kelly, Jack (Rena) Prather, Edgar Prather & Shannon (Dean) Peterson.

Survived by her children, Kathy Kelly, Sandra (Johnny) Boldt-Schuelke, Linda (Jim) Rice, Bob Gregory, Jim (Peggy) Gregory and Tom (Kathy) Gregory; twenty eight grandchildren; thirty four great-grandchildren; brother, R.E. (Terri) Prather; many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Marie’s Life will be 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln 68510. Pastor Kerry O’Bryant will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later time in the Hubbell, NE Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family.

So many great memories of Aunt Marie. She was so sweet and kind. I loved the way she was so engaged in her family's lives. I cherish the stories she told me of the things her and my mom did as kids and young ladies. We will miss her. Love to all my cousins.

Christie, My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. I think that people we have loved deeply, and then have lost, become a part of us. Through memories they live in our hearts forever.
