Earl E. Ford, 82, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully at home June 30, 2017.
He was born May 22, 1935 in Omaha, NE to George & Martha (Carpenter) Ford.
Earl graduated from Waverly High School, Waverly, NE in 1953. He worked 44
years for Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad in the Signal Department. He
served 5 years on a Y-Pal Committee to establish Big Brothers-Big Sisters in
Lincoln. Member of Camp Creek Threshers since 2004, displaying railroad items
and artifacts in the depot at Camp Creek. Active member of Unity Lincoln where
he attended church.
Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patricia and Yvonne.
Survived by brothers, Jerry & Dennis Ford; sons, Jory & Mark Ford; daughters,
Lea Ann Smith & Wendy Blake; wife of 30 years, Merry Ford and blended family
members, Christopher Holt, Alysha Holt (preceded in death) & Amber Ott; numerous
grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Earl’s Life will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at
Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln 68510.
At the request of the Ford family, there will be no public
viewing/visitation. Earl’s wishes were for cremation. In Lieu of Flowers,
memorials are suggested to Unity Lincoln Church Building Fund or LARHS Building
