Young, Pauline "Joan"


Pauline Joan Young was born on March 13, 1942 in Maxwell, NE to John and Roma Bollwitt. She died on October 10, 2017 in Lincoln, NE at the age of 75.

Joan grew up in Ansley, Ne and attended Ansley High School. On August 14, 1959 she married the love of her life Earl. Soon after, they welcomed 3 children David, Dona, and Dustin.  As well as being a loving mother and grandmother, she was employed at Kawasaki for 31 years and retired in 2008. Co-workers and friends lovingly referred to her as "Jo". Joan was an avid Husker football and volleyball fan. She loved occasional visits to the casino, traveling the countryside and playing cards with her family. Shortly after the loss of her husband Earl, she welcomed her new companion "CoCo" from the Capital Humane Society.

She will be greatly missed by her sons, David Young of Lincoln, Dustin (Jodi) Young of Lincoln; daughter, Dona (Stanley) Balderson of Palmyra; Grandchildren, Tylor (Alyssa) Mapson of Lincoln, Brook Erhart of Bennet, Erin Conway of Lincoln, Zach Balderson of Lincoln, Stephanie (Derrick) Keene currently stationed in Okinawa Japan, Alyson (John) Danza of North Carolina, Emilie and Jacob Wyant, Gabriella and Amaya Young all of Lincoln; Great-grandchildren, Drew and Audrey Erhart, Leyton and Hailee Mapson, Madilyn, Makenzie, and Milana Keene, and Owen and Camille Danza; brothers, Johnny (Sherri) Bollwitt of Arizona, Jerry (Lore) Bollwitt of Washington; sister, Janet (Danny Peterson) Ohlert; her beloved companion dog "CoCo"; Brothers in law, Bob (Jeanne) Young of Broken Bow, Ed (Karen) Young of Florida, Larry (Patricia) Young of Comstock, Pete Cramer of Merna; sisters in law, Yvonne Osborn of Florida, Cherilyn (Keith) Mason of Litchfield, Clydia Young of Lincoln, Helen Young of Ansley, Marcella Young of Pleasanton; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Earl; parents, Roma Bollwitt and John Bollwitt; sister, Joyce Cramer; mother and father in law, Glenn and Blanche Young; sisters and brothers in law, Donna, Walter, Dale, Glenola, Loyd, and Elaine Young, Dick Osborn and Bill Brewer.

Her memorial service will be Sunday October 15, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home (4040 A St) with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made out to the Capital Humane Society in Lincoln NE.
