Theresa Elli Cross Age 74 of Lincoln Died 1-3-18

Retired resource teacher Norris District 160, Hickman, NE also having taught in Valley and Ord, NE after graduating from Peru State College in Nebraska. Each and every student she encountered was special to her. She encouraged every student that they could be successful in life with whatever journey they chose regardless of their learning style and that no road was impossible to travel. She was dearly loved by her family and always there for all members of her family. Elli will greatly be missed by her family and friends.

SURVIVED BY: Husband Ed, brother Frank Frandsen- Forsyth, MO, sister Caemel Furrer-Chesnut (Dale) – Lincoln, NE, adopted son DJ Johnson (Melanie) – Lincoln, NE, sister-in-law- Debbie Frandsen –Hickman, NE, niece Christina Furrer & daughters Jocelyn and Jaclyn – Lincoln, NE niece Kelly Engels (Sonny) – California, Nephews Shane Frandsen (Cindy) – California, and Chris Frandsen – Springfield, MO, niece Carmen Baroud & daughter Ashley (Jeremy) Ertz.

Elli was one of the most amazing women I had the pleasure of being friends with. She cared about her students so much and always supported them. Their successes made her happy. If Elli Cross believed in you, that really meant something. I am grateful for sharing part of my life with Elli, she is one in a million.

I posted this on Facebook but not everyone has an account there. I’m deeply saddened by the news this morning of the passing of one of the most influential people in my life. Beyond our parents, we all have a select few, very important people who have made such significant impacts on our lives for the better. I give credit to Elli for being the first to do this and for saving my life. After years of issues, When a teacher told my parents that they should Give up on me because I wasn’t worth saving she stepped in, the entire school system had failed me to that point but she saw potential and put me on the path to success. She saw where I struggled, taught me how to learn "for me" and how to utilize my talents & strengths. I cannot ever repay her or give her enough thanks for what she did for me. I can only hope that I have a similar impact on those around me… what she did for me was powerful beyond measure. Rest Peacefully Elli… and Thank You again from the bottom of my heart!

The staff of Bess Dodson Walt branch library in Lincoln extends their condolences to Elli's family. She was a regular user of library study rooms for tutoring and it was always pleasant to interact with her.

I am so saddened hearing the news of Mrs. Cross passing. She was such a wonderful person & such an amazing teacher. She never gave up on you & kept you motivated when everyone else gave up. Her family is in my thoughts & prayers.
